Kinja'd!!!

You have decided to start your own brand, however instead of building some eccentric supercar you are going to build a truck. Your goal is to hit between 8,000 to 12,000 US sales annually within the first three years. Tell me the following:

1) Name of Brand

2) Name of Truck and where it’s built

3) One engine from another automaker’s truck or SUV (must be detuned by 10% on horsepower and 20% on torque).

4) Price point and what trucks you’re benchmarking (this way we know about what size it is and what “personality” it has).

5) What your truck or company is offering in order to break into this segment.

See what you can come up with. If you get really into this then feel free to add a second truck or SUV to your line up. Have fun and let’s get creative!

I am going to make a full size truck to compete with the Ram/F150/Silverado/Sierra/Tundra/Titan. It will come with standard 4WD with locking diffs. It will also come standard with Honda’s EarthDreams 4 banger seen in the Accord mated to a 6 speed automagic.

It will be built in Fucking, Austria.

1. Truck-R-Us

2. Mr. Truck, USA

3. Cummings I-6 turbo diesel with a big clutch and a 6 speed manual.

4. ? You forgot 4.

5. $20,000, benchmarking stripped down 2wd, 2 door work trucks by ford and chevy

6. A chrome hood ornament that is the shape of a Rhino horn.

Who gives a shit about most of it, but it’ll be a $50k-$60k truck targeted at the 2500/F-250 range with a V8 and hybrid drivetrain, with the hybrid bit being advertised with the instant torque for towing. Because saying “hey, you won’t have to struggle to accelerate” is a pretty good selling point.

I give you the Ameritruck Fuck Yeah 8500, with two 6.7LCummins diesels, built on top of Mount Rushmore.

Set to be priced starting around $43,000, we have benchmarked the Ford F-teenthousand and whatever the baddest-ass Kenworth is.

We offer 6WD, a dual range manual gearbox, 34,000lb towing, and no weenie aluminum shit. Our frame is made from World Trade Center steel beams, impervious to jet fuel, able to take a mine to fuel tank and still whup your ass. Comes with standard machine gun mount in the bed that doubles as a fifth wheel hitch, and 48-beer cooler in the console.

The Ameritruck Fuck Yeah 8500. If you don’t like it, you can get the fuck out.

1. Athabasca Industries

2. Athabasca Bismarck, built in Calgary, Alberta, Bismarck, North Dakota, El Paso, Texas, and Anchorage, Alaska.

3. 5.0 Cummins turbodiesel V8

4. $25,000 (Base GX truck, compare with Ford F-150 XL, Ram 1500 Tradesman, et cetera) - $80,000 (Grande Prairie, compare with King Ranch F350, Laramie Longhorn 3500, Silverado High Country HD, Sierra Denali HD)

5. A truck specifically( but not exclusively) designed for the oil workers who buy pickup trucks, hence the name, which references both the Athabasca oil sands and North Dakota. Also a PHEV version, who’s only competitor would be the VIA Vtrux.

1. Truck-a-saurus

2. Rex. It’ll be built in a volcano, somewhere.

3. The 7.2L V12 from the Lamborghini LM002

4. $100,000

5. It’s a rolling 80s cliche. Everyone would want it.

Apache

T4300/T2500

General Motors EcoTec3 4.3L V6/EcoTec 2.5L

Built in freedomland, obviously. In a factory built on the land where the Chrysler van plant once stood in STL.

~$25,000 for a mid-range V6 4x4 extended cab model. The closest thing to what this would be is the both dead Ranger/S10.

A goddamn properly small truck again. Not something as big as full-sizes from 10 years ago.

1) Mini Truckers

2) The Truck manufacturered in Tijuana Mexico

3) Ford Ecoboost 1.6 or 2.0

4) Base starts at 18,500 or 23,000 fully loaded. Same sized as the Ford Ranger or Chevy S10. Options included camper shells, tool boxes, racks etc etc.

5) An inexpensive option for those small business owners needing to replace their Ford Rangers or similar trucks. No one else is selling something like that in the US

AMT-American Mexican Truck

10- built in Saltillo, taking advantage in the suppliers and infrastructure there.

Duramax 2.8 less power but better economy

Base ~20k (in US, cheaper in Mexico due to less regulations)

4x4 ~25k

Baja ~35k what do you think it means? I’ll show you a pre-runner.

Tacoma without the Toyota tax. And frames that don’t rust out.

Value/durability. Appealing to a sizable US minority and the 11th largest nation doesn’t hurt either.

SUV? Removable top a la 1st gen 4Runner.

Able Motor Co.

A-10, built in the rust belt, St. Louis or Cleveland.

4.3 EcoTec3

$17-28,000, extended or crew cab, 2 or 4wd; benchmarking the Tacoma, Colorado, future Ranger.

It will be a little bit smaller, more like a true compact truck, but more bad-ass than current midsize trucks.

1. JKM Motors

2. THB 420, hand-built by some guys in some shop somewhere in Albania or Iceland or Chile or someplace like that.

3. EcoBoost V6 actually running on 5 cylinders

4. $15,000 absolutely shitty in every way, competing against, I don’t know, Ladas?

5. If you crash it really hard and survive, we will buy you some cocaine. Bonus points cocaine if you rip the roof off.

1. Buffalo

2. Buffalo, Buffalo (NY)

3. 3.0L V6 diesel from FCA for Buffalo, 5.0L Cummins for Bison, 6.7L 24v Cummins for the Ox

4. $28-32K, Colorado, Taco, Ranger

5. Buffalo trucks (comes in the mid size Buffalo , the full size Bison and the heavy duty Ox) are simply appointed diesel only pickup trucks. No bells, whistles or gadgets and few options. That keeps costs down and allows for better materials in the construction. The goal is a rugged, robust truck that won’t die or rust and get decent mileage and power.

The SUV forms are the Boar and the larger Rhino , the Ox doesn’t get an SUV form

1. Texas

2. Texas Long Ranch Oil Field Edition, Manufactured in New York.

3. Toyota Tundra 5.7. Because the Tundra is built in Texas.

4. Every full-size.

5. The truck comes with an entire bed full of steaks.

The next vehicle to be released will be an SUV called the New Yorker (suck it, Chrysler) and it will be built in Texas.

1) Wayne Motors

2) THE INTIMIDATOR, San Antonio TX

3) Ford 5.0 Coyote

4) 150k- 200k. Advertised of having more Speed, Luxury, and Comfort than any other brand.

5) A Truck with good performance (as in car/track) with a shit load of luxury stuff. For rich people who want a truck to compensate for things, or want a “manly” image.

Basically a MB S-class AMG, but with with a truck body. It’ll be unibody, independent rear suspension, and air suspension. We’ll advertise it as having 4x4, but it won’t have it because the owners will never notice.

Edit: We’ll make another one with the Bentley Bentyga (or whatever) engine and even more luxury shit.

1.) Opulence Motors

2.) Grandeur. Built in Canton, MS (would takeover and retool the plant where the Nissan Titan is built)

3.) Hellcat engine (counts since it will be in the new Jeep Trailhawk)

4.) $150,000-$200,000. Same size as the current Ford F250/Chevy 2500.

5.) Years ago Diamond T pickups were considered the Rolls Royce of the truck world. The Opulence Grandeur would be the Rolls of this day and age. In a world where we now have $250,000 SUV’s, this would corner the market for people who want the ultimate in luxury and power while still being able to tow their 5th wheel horse trailer to an equestrian event.

I don’t care about name, it’s made in america, who cares what motor it has, and it’s a luxury truck. Base price $70k or so.

If I’m only selling 8000 to 12000 trucks a year, it’s a stupid expensive luxury truck.

1. Clydesdale

2. 1500/2500, USA

3. Toyota 3UR-FE, and the detuning will be done through Atkinson valve timing (improving thermal efficiency, and the new engine would be designated 3UR-FXE), but I have some tricks up my sleeve to get that power and torque back and then some...

4. Two base prices here, one at $38,500, the other at $50,000. 1500 is benchmarked against the 1/2 ton triplets (F-150, Silverado/Sierra 1500, Ram 1500) as well as the Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan. 2500 is benchmarked against the 3/4 ton diesel triplets (F-250, Silverado/Sierra 2500, Ram 2500) as well as the Nissan Titan XD diesel.

5. A custom gearbox using licensed Toyota (and Ford as necessary) patents, offering the functionality of the Lexus Multi-Stage Hybrid (4-speed reduction unit after the power split hybrid), but in a transverse package, as well as a second rear electric motor with its own reduction gearing. Note that while it’s a transverse FWD package for efficiency reasons (and the lack of a driveshaft improves battery packaging), it’s still body-on-frame. The 1500 has a 2 kWh battery standard, whereas 2500 has a 4 kWh battery to handle towing loads better, and with a J1772 inlet, get that sweet, sweet $2500 minimum PHEV tax credit.

The second design...

2. Pony, USA

3. Toyota 2GR-FXE, and that means it’s even more detuned than the Highlander/RX version...

4. $29,000, benchmarking the Colorado/Canyon, Tacoma, Frontier, and Ridgeline

5. Basically the driveline out of the Highlander/RX 450h, including the rear electric motor. However, again, still on a body-on-frame platform.

1. Canyonero

2. Mexico

3. Cummins Turbo Diesel, ZF 8 Speed

4. $35k, fully loaded - only trim available.

Sorta entry level luxury interiors but tough and utilitarian too. Like if Ford built a luxury Bronco truck or the Queen’s 2019 Defender. Quilted Navy blue or Cocoa Brown are the only available interior colors in cloth and leather. All plastics are soft touch in the cabin, in deep matte grey or matte black. Seats 2 in the cab with removable rear cab panel and 2 jump seats in the truck bed. Removable camshell that covers truck bed.

5. Entertainment system is a new unlocked flagship iPhone/Android that docks in the dash seamlessly.Free if you pre-order your truck now!

6. The grand canyon
